A Note From Ms. Woodrich

Dear Heritage Families,

If you have not already done so, please make sure to use the sign-up links below to select a time to meet with your child(ren)’s teacher(s). We look forward to connecting with you soon. Conferences will take place on February 10th and 11th from 4:00–8:00 p.m.

We also want to share a reminder that our Valentine’s Exchanges will take place on Wednesday, February 11th. Students are encouraged to create their Valentine’s boxes at home and bring them to school during the week of February 9th, along with valentines to exchange with classmates. On February 11th, students will participate in a Valentine’s exchange, enjoy a snack, play bingo, and take part in a fun, relaxed celebration led by our PTO room parents.

Parents are welcome to join us for the celebration. Please note that, due to space limitations, younger siblings will not be able to attend. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

We look forward to a fun and busy February!

ONE TEAM. SAME COMMITMENT.

With appreciation,
Ms. Woodrich
Heritage Principal

Kindergarten Registration Now Open!

Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten in August 2026?

Heritage Elementary has begun accepting registrations for incoming Kindergarten students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

If your child will be eligible for Kindergarten this year (age 5 by July 31, 2026), visit our district website www.benningtonschools.org and click on "Enroll New Student" to register for the upcoming school year, and be sure to select the 2026-2027 school year.

Completing registration ensures that you receive communication regarding kindergarten. Determining the enrollment for the next year is also important for future staff planning.

Kindergarten Roundup for students will take place just prior to the start of the school year. More information will be sent on this at a later date. If you have any questions regarding enrollment, please call our school office at 402-238-2095 or email Ms. Carissa at, carissajohnson@bennps.org.

Cold Weather Reminders

Just a reminder to send your children to school with a warm coat, hat and mittens. Breakfast and Reading/Walking club kids come in at 7:45. All other kids wait outside until 8:00. If the "feels like" temperature is 20 degrees or below; all kids will come in at 7:50 and wait in assigned hallway areas until 8:00.

For recess, we go outside unless the 'feels like' temperature is 20 degrees or below. If there is snow on the playground, students will need to bring snow boots and snow gear and be able to dress themselves in the snow gear to play in the snowy areas. If they do not have the appropriate gear, they will play on the blacktop and non-snowy areas.

Please label all of their belongings. This way our lost and found doesn't grow.

Lunch & Breakfast

If you plan to come visit during lunchtime, please let the office know by 9:00am if you are going to purchase a school lunch so we can prepare enough food. Lunches are $4.90 for adults, and no change can be given.
You are more than welcome to bring food from home, but please NO fast food. If you are bringing a peanut or tree nut item in your lunch, please do NOT sit at our peanut free table in the cafeteria. Thank you!
