A Note From Ms. Woodrich

Dear Heritage Families,

It was a great first week back with students after spring break. They jumped right back into the routines and procedures of the school day. We are so lucky to have such amazing students at Heritage.

Next week, we have a few exciting field trips planned. Third grade will be heading to the Illuminarium, and first grade will be off to the zoo.

We will also have 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students taking their ELA NSCAS tests. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s rest and has a healthy breakfast so they are ready to do their very best and show what they know. We are excited to see the progress each student has made this year.

Thank you for your continued support.

ONE TEAM, SAME COMMITMENT

Take care,
Ms. Woodrich
Heritage Principal

Traffic Concerns

We’ve experienced multiple near-misses with vehicles that could have led to accidents. Please pay close attention to the stop signs around the school and when exiting the school driveway, as this is a serious safety concern.

We have also had several reports of motorized scooters coming out of the school drive into oncoming traffic. Please talk with your students about scooter safety so we can avoid injuries and accidents. Thank you with your cooperation with this!

Parent Communication Survey

Please Complete the Parent Communication Survey
Bennington Public Schools is collecting feedback from parents across the district through the Parent Communication Survey. The purpose of this survey is to gather input about communication practices within BPS and provide helpful feedback for the district, principals, and staff.

Your responses will help guide future communication decisions and improvements across the district. The survey should take about five minutes to complete.

Please complete the survey by Monday, April 13. We appreciate you taking a few minutes to share your perspective.

2026-2027 Teacher Changes

As we look towards next school year already, we would like to let our community know we will have a few changes in our teaching staff for next year. Mrs. Nightengale, Mrs. Watson, and Mrs. Rucker will be leaving after this school year. Ms. Jensby will be heading off to the middle school. We have loved and appreciated everything they have done for our school community and wish them all the best of luck in their future endeavors. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Kindergarten Registration Now Open!

Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten in August 2026?

Heritage Elementary has begun accepting registrations for incoming Kindergarten students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

If your child will be eligible for Kindergarten this year (age 5 by July 31, 2026), visit our district website www.benningtonschools.org and click on "Enroll New Student" to register for the upcoming school year, and be sure to select the 2026-2027 school year.
