Dear Heritage Families,

This week, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students completed their ELA NSCAS assessments, and next week they will be taking their Math NSCAS assessments.

To support your child in doing their best and showing what they have learned, please help ensure they are well-rested and have a healthy breakfast each day. We are excited to see and celebrate the growth our students have made throughout the year.

Due to our early dismissal at 11:40 next Tuesday, April 21st, we will have Badger Time scheduled that day. We will also be celebrating our April Student of the Month recipients.

Congratulations to Mr. Mahoney for being awarded 2026 Blue Apple Distinguished Educator of the Year! Heritage is so grateful to have such an amazing teacher for our students and a wonderful colleague to work with.

As we look towards next school year already, we would like to let our community know we will have a few changes in our teaching staff for next year. Mrs. Nightengale, Mrs. Watson, and Mrs. Rucker will be leaving after this school year. Ms. Jensby will be heading off to the middle school. We have loved and appreciated everything they have done for our school community and wish them all the best of luck in their future endeavors. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

If you plan to come visit during lunchtime, please let the office know by 9:00am if you are going to purchase a school lunch so we can prepare enough food. Lunches are $4.90 for adults, and no change can be given.

You are more than welcome to bring food from home, but please NO fast food. If you are bringing a peanut or tree nut item in your lunch, please do NOT sit at our peanut free table in the cafeteria. Thank you!

PTO Board Voting is LIVE - If you are an active member of PTO you should have received an email with the link to complete your 26/27 board ballot. Voting is open until Friday, April 24th at 11:59pm. The Nebraska Department of Education requires Bennington Public Schools to inform parents in regards to how the district uses Title I funding it receives. At this time Bennington Elementary and Heritage Elementary utilize these funds to support student programming. An informational session is scheduled at Bennington Elementary School prior to the Board of Education meeting to inform the public about the use of this funding and to take comments. Please join us on May 11th at 5:00 p.m. in the Bennington Elementary School Library.
